About me
I have been working or volunteering with adolescents and adults for the past 25 years. In my most recent position as group psychotherapist/treatment coordinator in an adolescent partial hospitalization program, I have provided individual, group, and family therapy for teens struggling with an array of mental health challenges. These include depression, anxiety, chronic suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, PTSD, family strain, and self-esteem issues. My work with adults has centered around many of the issues mentioned above, as well as life transitions, marital conflict, loss, and parenting.
I love working with both adolescents and adults and believe that I am able to put them at ease because I am genuine and authentic in my concern for their wellbeing, and because of the breadth of my clinical experience. When appropriate, I find it helpful to incorporate humor and playfulness into the therapeutic process.
My clinical orientation includes a combination of humanistic, solution-focused, and strength-based approaches. I incorporate the use of both CBT and DBT skills and view all of this through a trauma informed lens.
