About me
I offer three strong specialties to my counseling approach: Culture Humanity, Language Narrative, and Systemic exploration. Any given struggle in life has multiple layers of causes, and we cannot fully understand or effectively treating the "symptom" without going under to its root. With extensive training in family system approach counseling, I am able to engage with you beyond your presenting challenge from a perspective of intertwined connections between the individual and systems around you.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I began seeing clients in 2012 and focused on children experienced with abuse and trauma. I slowly transitioned to see adult individuals and couples & families with various mental health struggles and relationship issues. I speak and provide counseling services fluently in both English and Mandarin Chinese. I work from a story telling framework focused on the formation of your experience that helps to enhance your awareness of its process. Through a collaborative relationship, we will construct new meaning to form new choices in life that was not accessible before based on your individual strengths, resilience and resources. Because the power for change is within you and your relationships with others through genuine dialogue where allow you to truly understand your own unique experience through sharing, curiosity and learning. I appreciate the uniqueness of each story and experience you share, so I take tremendous care and appreciation on this journey with you, where i will provide a safe space for you to truly in-touch with your own fear and uncertainty with me. My highly tailored approach in psychotherapy allows you to understand any given event in a constructive way that is unique in your own experience. In addition to my clinical work, I am an Assistant Professor teaching next generation counselors.
