About me
I graduated from North Carolina Central University where I obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with minors in ASL Deaf Studies and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am a Licensed Psychological Associate who performs psychotherapy, counseling, and psychological and psychoeducational testing.
I believe that my primary role as a therapist is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment in which clients from diverse backgrounds can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences and uncover their deepest healing potential, while building self-esteem and confidence. I believe the foundation for effective therapy is a strong client-therapist relationship built on trust, understanding, and acceptance. I tailor treatment towards the individual’s needs by integrating tools from multiple theories including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused, and Solution Focused approaches. I utilize a holistic approach, meaning I provide support by acknowledging all components of health including mental, physical, emotional, and social health.
I grew up in Thomasville, North Carolina. I've lived in Raleigh since 2018 and love the area. I am the mother of two, and grandmother to six. I love to relax by knitting or reading. I also enjoy travelling with my significant other, spending time with family and friends, and Latin dancing.
