Valarie is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has practiced in Behavioral and Mental health for the past 9 years.
My goals are to use strength-based approaches to help my clients reach their inner healing so that they can access the inner strength to overcome life’s challenges.
My specialization is in treating and working with women and children with Trauma histories. I currently work with young adults, couples, men and women. I practice in the theories of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for individual and in group modalities. I use evidence-based practices from Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (Mindfulness), Internal Family Systems (IFS-Informed) Motivational Interviewing and Crisis Intervention. I have worked with clients ages 4 years old to 66 years old on a variety of issues pertaining to depression, anxiety, domestic violence, abuse, self-esteem, trauma, relationship conflicts, communication, parenting, grief and loss, ADHD, women’s issues and substance abuse.
