About me
Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider, and a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional with 15 years of counseling experience. I'm a member of the Cherokee Nation and was raised in Oklahoma and Wyoming. When I was 17, I became an "extra" in the John Wayne movie "Hellfighters," partially filmed near Casper, WY. I was a Navy Hospitalcorpsman during the Vietnam War.
After studying a year at Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany, I graduated from Cal State Fresno with a B.A. in History. I earned an M.A. in Biblical Studies at the A/G Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO and taught in a K-12 Christian school in Fridley, MN for about 2 years. I rejoined the Navy in1982 and became a photojournalist. I led photojournalist teams throughout the Eastern & Southeastern United States, Scotland, Wales, England, and Germany. I was invited to the White House twice (during the George H. W. Bush administration). While assigned to a Seabee Battalion on Guam, I became a PADI-certified Master Scuba Diver and Divemaster.
I retired from the Navy in1996 and began a career in information technology, earning an MBA in Healthcare Administration and a DBA in Management Information Systems. WhiIe working as an IT manager by day, I taught business technology courses in the evening at several private universities in Minneapolis and St. Paul. I transitioned into mental health care after earning an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Alabama.
I've had good results with veterans with PTSD.
I'm particularly interested in nutritional psychology, and I'm a P.h.D. candidate in clinical data science at Bircham International University in Madrid, Spain. I met, and married my wife, Cecilia, in Bogota, Colombia.
