About me
Wounds are not to be feared but explored and overcome.
As a clinician I understand the strength and courage it takes to ask for help and to trust another individual with your story. My role in counseling is to respect you, listen without judgement, and show compassion. I find it a blessing to be part of your journey.
There is something powerful about sharing your journey this far and working together to continue to move about your journey. There is likely not many places you can go for someone to listen to you showing empathy and understanding without being interrupted for one hour. I strive to provide a space where you can sit and process scars, deep thoughts, dreams, fears, stressors, etc. I understand adversity is part of life.
“ We can walk into our favorite grocery store, see people around us laughing, smiling, and appearing perfect. Often wondering why we feel we are the only ones struggling in life. However if we were to get on the store intercom and ask who in here is facing adversity and ask them to raise their hands, the majority of people in the grocery store would raise their hands because adversity is part of life happens.”
I’m originally from Amarillo, TX, great sticks of the panhandle of Texas. I left Amarillo and served in the United States Air Force and Army Reserves. Upon completing my time in service, I moved back to Amarillo and went to West Texas A&M where I received my BA in Social Work. I moved to Houston,TX and attended the University of Houston to pursue a masters degree in social work. Post graduation I worked for a non-profit serving Hep C and HIV clients doing medical case management and counseling. After a couple years, I left and started working for Veteran Affairs Administration as a re-adjustment counselor. Where I provide counseling to veterans who served in combat and who suffered from military sexual trauma. I started my private practice five years ago and I’m excited to see how my journey continues to progress.
When I’m out of session, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. I love working out, physical activities ( I might think I’m an excellent bowler, keyword might), reading, checking out mom and pop restaurants, and spending time in nature.
