About me
Are you the parent who understands that your child needs more than a bandaid approach or a one-size-fits-all solution? Are outbursts, panic attacks, or shutting down preventing your child from truly thriving? You see so much potential for your child and it’s breaking your heart. Tamara provides a customized therapeutic approach that will help you and your child to not only overcome the immediate challenges of today, but begin thriving for the future.
Tamara offers individual, family, and group counseling as well as affordable, diagnostic autism evaluations for ages 12 months to young adults. With over 10 years experience, Tamara has helped 1000+ toddlers, children, teens, young adults, and adult couples struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, meltdowns, shutting down, low self-esteem, and symptoms related to ADHD, autism or neurodiversity.
Tamara has a unique perspective as both a psychotherapist and as a parent, because she raised 2 children with ADHD and autism. She recognized that she did not want her children's lives to be dominated by outbursts and shutting down, so she sought out specialized counseling for them and today, they are an engineer and a college student. As a clinical social worker/psychotherapist, ADHD certified clinical specialist, & autism spectrum disorder clinical specialist, Tamara wants to help other families who are living with similar challenges so they can start thriving.
Family counseling offers in-session parent coaching proven to help children of all ages make positive choices to avoid negative consequences. Parenting strategies also provided during parent appointments and parenting groups. Groups are available for ages 5 to young adults and provide skills for regulating emotions, tolerating difficult situations and improving socialization. Online and in-person parenting groups available, as well as a group for parents caring for adult children with autism or neurodiversity. Afternoon/Evening appointments available. Private pay only. Out of network for all insurance.
