I started working as a registered nurse in 1998. I have been practicing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) since obtaining a master's of science degree in nursing, with a specialization in midwifery, from Yale University in 2002. I worked for 15 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), working closely with women and families and attending to their physical, social and emotional needs. I maintain national certification and Massachusetts state licensure as a CNM.
I became a yoga teacher in 2017 after 20 years of personal practice because of my strong belief in the mind/body connection. I received training in yoga for trauma recovery and both taught and attended multiple classes and workshops through 2020.
I chose to expand my clinical role and obtained a certificate of advanced graduate studies in psychiatric mental health nursing from Northeastern University in 2020. Now, my work is focused entirely on mental health, with my experience allowing me to provide a holistic approach. I offer therapy and medication management if indicated. I can order labs, consult with other medical providers or specialized programs as needed. Nutrition and lifestyle is addressed as integral to all treatment plans.
I enjoy working in collaboration with my clients to relieve distress and achieve lasting good health. I also work part-time at Eliot Community Human Services providing outpatient medication management for adults with serious mental illness. This allows me to maintain a connection with experts in psychiatry, and be involved in the evolving Massachusetts mental health system.
