About me
Dr. Scott Heine is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has over three decades of experience as a pastoral counselor before being further trained to specialize in clinical mental health counseling. His collaborative, compassionate approach to therapy is ideal for those struggling with past and present trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, grief & loss, anxiety, and stress. Dr. Heine recognizes that life can be messy, complicated, and painful, and he applies creativity to empower clients to find relief and hope in their unique circumstances. Dr. Heine completed his Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University in support of his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity International University. He completed his counseling residency at the prestigious Mindful Healing Counseling Services in Washington, D.C. before joining Thriveworks. Dr. Heine sees counseling as a collaborative process that supports and empowers clients to explore perspectives, beliefs, & behaviors in a safe, nonjudgmental context. He challenges unhealthy patterns that arise & helps clients grow in self-awareness to embrace new possibilities while integrating mindfulness, contemplation, communication skills, & self-care.
