About me
My name is Richard, I own and operate Urgent Care Counseling, LLC. I have been working with individuals, children, and families with mental health concerns for over 32 years. I am experienced in working with PTSD, developmental Trauma, Attachment issues, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, Family and Relationship conflict, grief, marriage, and couples counseling, ADHD, Autism Spectrum and Academic struggles.
At Urgent Care Counseling, LLC practice, I don't see people according to their diagnosis or in a cookie cutter one-size-fits-all manner. Each client is assessed and treated as an individual with an emphasis on solution-focused therapy, developing not just an understanding of what the issues are or how they came to exist, but also more focused on how to change to become the person the client wants to be. In sessions, we will work on strategies and techniques that can help propel the client to achieve their personal goals. I am a client-centered therapist and use a multi-modality approach from an evidence-based therapeutic approach.
When you come to my office, I hope you and your family will feel at home and comfortable. My office spaces are set up to feel more like a living room than a clinical mental health setting. Being able to be comfortable and relaxed in a therapy session is very important for the work of therapy. At Urgent Care Counseling, LLC we offer traditional psychotherapy, and EEG Neurofeedback when appropriate, and we have a psychiatric nurse practitioner on sight as well to help with providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management when necessary.
