About me
I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who is dedicated to individuals from all walks of life cope with anxiety, depression etc. I provide individual, couple, family, group, etc. counseling for adults, adolescents, children, elder adults, etc. I have been trained to work with the following presenting issues: substance abuse, anger management, sexual trauma, career development, or specific mental health concerns that I feel comfortable working with such as depression or anxiety, etc. My therapeutic approach incorporates several major theories of counseling including Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Gestalt, Existential, Adlerian, REBT, Person Centered, etc. I tailor my particular focus to the needs of the clients. I believe that every individual possesses the strength and the potential to work through life problems, and that most issues are developmentally based.
I am friendly and compassionate to all and everyone I meet. My counseling process involves a collaborative relationship between client and counselor in an open environment where my clients is free to share their thoughts and feelings honestly. Thus, your active participation and personal and personal work outside of session are essential for counseling to be effective. I may ask you to try various things outside of the counseling hour to help you reach your goal. In most cases, you will be given a mental health diagnosis as part of your treatment. This diagnosis will be discussed with you and is used to plan the appropriate course of counseling. Your diagnosis will become part of your permanent record at my site and may be accessed by your insurance company and any other entity to which your records are released.
