About me
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York State. I believe we can change our brains! My goal is to make myself obsolete. I use the framework of Positive Psychology and other cognitive behavioral therapeutic techniques, including mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual reframing, to partner with people to commit to daily practices and behavior change that will support adaptive thinking and healthy living.
I specialize in short-term work with people who are going through an acute challenge or are at a place where they are ready to take action to change their lives. I offer concrete support, advice, and strategies for addressing and changing the thoughts and feelings that prevent growth. We will work together for a time-limited period to identify your goals for therapy and begin working toward these.
Some areas that we can focus on that can be a barrier to change include:
- Past traumatic experiences
- Family dynamics
- Addictive behaviors
- Self-defeating patterns
- Relationship pitfalls
- Existential confusion
- Blocks to creativity
We can work on treating anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, grief and loss, and relationship problems with practical strategies for adapting thinking and behavior for positive outcomes. While we can't erase the past, we can find ways to process pain, losses, and disappointments in order to move forward. I will partner with you on removing barriers and pitfalls so you can move toward your next milestone.
