About me
Clinical Psychologist for Adults
I am a California licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Mar Vista, just east of Venice Beach. I offer both video and face to face sessions with in person being preferred. Over the years, I have worked well with executives, scientists, entrepreneurs, attorneys, graduate students, writers and artists, just to name a few. In general, over-thinking, highly cerebral adults who appreciate a direct approach tend to gravitate to my office.
In terms of presenting problems, I have experience with anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, career and relationship challenges, cancer diagnoses, grief and loss, life transitions, feelings of loneliness, isolation, and those who hold the relentless hope that their life should be better than it is.
Besides my work as a psychologist, I have been a graduate level instructor at Pepperdine University, Atlantic University and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have worked with many students through the dissertation process helping to establish sound research methodology and a plan to completion. Along with the more traditional domains of psychology, I also have studied the transpersonal, anomalous experiences and mind-body healing for healthy functioning.
Personally, I have been married to the same man for close to 30 years, have an adult son and have reaped profound benefit from having almost always owned a dog. Now into my fifth decade, I have experienced many of the great wonders and joys of life along with its inevitable frustrations and deepest sorrows. I understand that sometimes you need practical solutions for unique challenges and sometimes you need to find acceptance and understanding for that which can’t be changed.
I bring my empathy, curiosity, energy, education and professional expertise to sessions to create a treatment plan as unique as you for a more satisfying present and a more hopeful future.
Contact me for a free, 20-minute consultation. During that discovery call, we can discuss what brings you to therapy now, what a successful outcome would look like, fees, frequency of sessions and expected time frame for duration of therapy. If we decide that I am not the right psychologist for you, I can offer you referrals.
I do not accept insurance, but will provide a superbill at the end of the month. My standard session fee is $200 for 60 minutes.
