About me
Greetings! I am a licensed clinical social worker who has over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma, family changes, and mental health issues.
Ever since I was a young child, I would pretend that I was a therapist and would work with abused or disabled children. My dolls always had broken arms or legs, were in wheelchairs or needed crutches, or often sad and in need of advice. It seems that my social work career began at a young age.
Throughout the years, my passion for helping those in need grew and lead me to where I am today, which is an experienced and confident clinical social worker.
I am a social individual and feel comfortable being in social settings. I thrive when given the opportunity to collaborate with others from different disciplines or other mental health professionals.
My focus is on children, adolescents, and families. As a therapist, I can focus on the systems within my client’s life that are a source of strength and an avenue towards inner growth and wisdom. I strongly believe that clients have the desire and strength to work through difficult and painful issues with the guidance of a caring and knowledgeable therapist.
Meeting clients where they are and being present is key to helping clients feel validated and heard. Making obtainable goals is also an important part of the therapeutic process and assists the client in feeling empowered to make the changes needed to heal and move forward with more insight and strategies to cope with everyday issues.
I believe it’s an honor and privilege to be a part of my client’s journey through the therapeutic process. When a client commit’s themselves to being vulnerable and exploring new and healthier ways to function, they can experience transformation of self. Each person is a unique individual who possesses the ability to discover their true self that is capable of love, peace, and success.
