About me

I am Monica Camacho and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student intern at Embrace Authenticity Counseling LLC. in Orlando, Fl.

I am a counseling student intern who would love to see children, adolescents, and adults starting at age five. I would love to help you with various mental health concerns like anxiety and depression to life changes. I can offer different types of therapy like sand tray, mindfulness, play therapy, and more. I would love to work with someone willing to practice what we discuss in their sessions. I would love to work with clients new to therapy or more seasoned clients.

As mentioned above, I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student Intern. I am still in school at Walden University but am less than a year out from graduation. I am working under the supervision of Rebecca Keck (owner and founder of Embrace Authenticity Counseling LLC.)
My background consists of taking Psychology courses and learning about mental health in my sophomore year of high school. Learning about the field, I instantly knew I needed my profession to be centered around mental health. In my first year of college, I settled on counseling and have not looked back.
I aspire to be the best therapist possible. I promised future clients I would listen to them constantly, never judge, and be culturally sensitive and competent.
Please note that in our sessions, you have complete autonomy of how the session goes. I do not believe in making you talk or open up about topics you are not ready to discuss. If you think a suggestion of mine won't work, tell me.

I am a neurodivergent, plus-sized, BIPOC female therapist. I am LGTBQIA+ affirming and believe that Black Lives do, in fact, matter. I believe immigrants are people and know they have rights. I think anyone can heal at any pace. You do not have to go at the same speed as everyone else. But I also believe I cannot put more effort in than the client. I am here to help you do the work, but I cannot change and heal for you. I want to continue working on breaking the stigma around mental health. I am intensely passionate about it. I also believe in the power of suicide prevention.
