I have been practicing since 2006. A large portion of my work has revolved around sexual abuse/assault. I have worked with primary and secondary survivors as well as provided court ordered treatment to people who have committed sexual abuse/assault. I am well versed in working with anger issues, anxiety, depression, social stigma's, substance abuse, relationship issues, communication and self-acceptance.
I have been a Licensed therapist in Arizona since 2006. I completed my Undergraduate Degree at University of Iowa majoring in Psychology and completed a Graduate Program at the University of Phoenix with a Master of Counseling degree.
I have a strong background in working with sexual abuse and/or violence in multiple aspects. I have worked with people who committed sexual offenses, primary survivors of sexual abuse/assault as well as secondary victims of sexual abuse (both victim and perpetrator family members and loved ones). I have over 10 years experience working with people who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness as well as experience working with family and loved ones of people with substance abuse issues.
I am skilled at working with people in developing social skills, working with anxiety, depression, intimacy concerns, trauma and couples counseling.
Therapy is a team approach, I am well versed in a variety of approaches and utilize what works best with my client. My foundational is set in Choice Theory which is an empowering approach helping a person to recognize how they can create the world they want for themselves.
