MIRJANA KELAVA, Ph.D.

I am an experienced and compassionate Licensed Psychologist who works with individual adults who are experiencing a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, life transition difficulties, grief and loss, cancer/medical diagnosis, and self-esteem.

I have provided psychotherapy in the SF Bay area for over 30 years and have worked with a diverse client population in numerous mental health settings. I work with individual adults on issues such as depression, anxiety and stress, relationship difficulties, perinatal mood disorders, life transitions, grief and loss, cancer/health issues, self-esteem.

I have a particular interest in Women's Mental Health, including perinatal mood disorders (depression/anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum), parenting, work/identity issues, life transition and empty nest issues, relationship problems, food/body, and self-esteem issues.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and warm. I strive to provide a trusting relationship and safe environment in which to identify, explore, and help you address those issues that are causing distress in your life. I believe that it is a privilege to be entrusted with helping people understand themselves better, make positive changes, and live more fulfilling and content lives.

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (1993) and my B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley (1987). I am licensed by the California Board of Psychology, license #PSY 14490. I am a member of the California Psychological Association and the Alameda County Psychological Association.
