I’m Mireya Torres. A Catholic bilingual Spanish speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I help divorced women and single mothers reclaim their self-worth and discover their purpose.

Do you have feelings of worthlessness due to a “failed” marriage? Do you feel guilty for not providing a nuclear family to your children? Do you feel judged by your family, friends, and community?
Let’s talk. I am here to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space. Together we can identify and challenge those deeply rooted negative self-beliefs that are keeping you in a cycle of shame, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. You deserve to regain your sense of confidence and live a fulfilling life.

My “Why”

I have walked in your shoes. I am a divorced woman. I am a single mother. I understand the feelings of shame, guilt, anxiety, and hopelessness. I too, have grieved.

We have all felt powerless amidst life’s unexpected challenges. Divorce not only signifies mourning the loss of a partner, but it also signifies mourning the hopes, dreams, commitments, and goals that were once shared. Adding to that, are the feelings of exhaustion, worry, and ambiguity that come with becoming a single parent. We can easily fall into a cycle of despair and begin to question our faith. Marriage and the unity of a nuclear family are sacred, so why would God allow this to happen? This is why I have founded Healing in Faith Therapy. A safe space where we can merge our mental health and our faith. Together, we can process through the feelings of hopelessness while acknowledging our faith, beliefs, and values.
I have experience working with adults, parents, children, families and the elderly in various mental health settings. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University San Bernardino as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology also from California State University San Bernardino. I utilize modalities derived from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, and others based on the specific need of each individual client. I am also an active member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association where I am able to stay up to date on the most effective treatment modalities that align with our Catholic faith.
I am currently accepting new clients. I only provide services via Telehealth to individuals who reside in the state of California. I do not accept insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill that can be presented to your insurance provider.
