Mia Howard, LCSW

I am an experienced psychotherapist who is dedicated to helping children, adolescents and adults cope with truama, depression and anxiety.

I am a clinical social worker who has worked with children and adolescents for over 25 years. I have been working with adults for the past 15 years as a clinician. I integrate compassionate, realtional psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I am continually learning about psychology, and have a MA in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University, and am earning a PsyA at the NJ Institute for the Training of Psychoanalysis in Teaneck NJ. I am also a yoga teacher, therapist and a visual artist as life long hobbies. I use art therapy and mindfulness techniques as appropriate and healing for you. I draw from different traditions such as CBT and DBT, music and drama therapy, and tailor your experience to meet what will work best for you. I am here for you, to listen to you, learn about you, your goals, and your struggles without any judgement or preconceived notions. I honor your early childhood experiences and your past, as well as your dreams, as foundational to helping you to understand your motivations and current needs. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. I have expertise as well in working with LGBTQ+ patients. I speak French, have lived in France and Italy, and was born in New York City. I come from a family of artists. I am intuitive and thoughtful in my work.
