About me

I love walking alongside people of all ages and situations as we figure out how to navigate life together.

Most extensively I have worked with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma and/or are experiencing difficult behavioral issues. In more recent years that practice has expanded to include adults who are navigating past traumas or current life transitions. No matter what age the client, we work together to better understand life experiences and how they have influenced the way you currently approach the world in both positive and protective ways.
As a therapist I see myself playing an active role in guiding you to where you want to be. I fully believe you have everything you need within you to be the best version of yourself, but sometimes we need someone to help encourage us and show us our blind spots. In my experience mindfulness and the practice of being present is foundational to utilizing all other tools that we will learn together. Techniques such as body awareness, capturing thoughts, recognizing emotions and many others will be utilized to help you begin to manage feelings of anxiety and/or depression. Practicing the skills learned in session will be essential to having it transfer to real life situations. It is such an exciting moment when clients come back to session with the success of accomplishing their goals and seeing the shifts in their life that they desire.
I believe in the power of connection and community. Often times this world can be a very lonely place and my passion is to help the people I interact with to feel connected not only to me but to others and the greater world. I think the experiences, thoughts, and feelings we hold inside because of shame or fear or sadness effects our bodies and minds. In my experience when those things are spoken and brought to light it brings healing to not only the person doing the work but also to anyone else lucky enough to witness it. The work is not easy, it takes courage, but it is so worth it to walk in the freedom of knowing who you are and the value you hold.
