About me
I am a neuropsychologist, therapist, and consultant with a certification in integrative medicine for mental health. I believe collaborative individualized care that attends to body, mind, and spirit. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults coming from diverse backgrounds. I provide cognitive and psychological assessments, quantitative electroencephalogram (QEEG) brain function assessments, neurofeedback, auditory processing training, cognitive and visuomotor training, breath training, and talk therapy. I also provide services to those seeking improved performance in sport, business, and the arts.
I have worked in the field of psychology since 1993. I received my master's degrees in counseling psychology and sport psychology while serving as an officer in the United States Air Force and completed a doctorate in clinical psychology in 2009. I have experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, developmental trauma, traumatic brain injuries and concussions, people who suffer from memory loss, chronic pain, foster care youth, substance abuse and addiction, people who struggle with mental illness, and those who identify as LGBTQIA2S+. I also teach graduate courses in a sport psychology program.
I specialize in pediatric and adult neuropsychological testing regarding autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, memory functioning, identifying cognitive functioning in individuals following head injury, stroke, cancer, concussions, giftedness, and social emotional function. I have experience in working within school settings and being a part of IEP teams. I help formulate recommendations that focus on accommodations for the child in the school setting, for standardized testing, as well as treatment options geared toward improved brain function in both children and adults.
Through a relational and strength based approach, I aim to empower others to take the needed steps to live a more passionate and rewarding life. Each of us has unique experiences and inner wisdom that can become consumed by life's stressors. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship you develop more awareness of your responses to situations, re-story your interpretation of events, break habits that no longer serve you, promote adaptive behavior in synch with current life circumstances, foster increased self-compassion, and transform your outlook on life to one of growth and resilience.
