About me

Meagan S Thompson Therapy
“Building brighter futures…one session at a time.”

Observing the growth and evolution of clients throughout the therapy process ignites my passion for this work. My mission is to support clients in embracing self-acceptance and self-compassion through a personalized, strength-based approach. I've found that a nurturing, gentle approach fosters significant behavioral changes. My goal is to honor each client's unique journey, empowering them to utilize modalities and skills that foster enduring, meaningful transformation.

I've received extensive training in a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Somatic Healing techniques, Mindfulness, and Meditation. Additionally, I am proficient in 12-Step theories and integrating spirituality into therapy, when desired by the client.

With a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, certification as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor from the Maxwell Institute, and training in Expressive Art Therapy from the Expressive Arts Florida Institute, I integrate diverse techniques into my practice. As a certified yoga teacher, I also incorporate somatic healing, mindfulness, and breathing exercises into therapy sessions.

My expertise lies in working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, dysfunctional family dynamics, borderline personality disorder, trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, eating disorders, substance use disorders, and other addiction disorders.

I eagerly await the opportunity to collaborate with you, identifying your therapy goals and embarking on your journey towards healing.
