About me
I am a sex and relationship therapist specializing in adolescent and adult LGBTQ+ identities and sex therapy for men.
Every client comes to therapy for a different reason, but they all share one thing in common: a desire to disrupt a problem and move toward healing. Let’s get started on that path. I empower adults and adolescents as they grow in response to sexual concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and oppression.
As a young therapist working in child welfare and psychiatric settings, sexuality concerns were always present in my clients, but not adequately addressed in treatment. At this phase of my career, I have decided to bring issues related to LGBTQ+ identities and sexual function to the center of my practice. I now specialize in providing sex therapy for men and psychotherapy for adolescent and adult members of the LGBTQ+ community.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I know first hand that the coming out process is lifelong. With advanced training and years of experience, I am well-positioned to support your growth and development as you navigate that process. Whether you are just beginning that process or have come out years ago, LGBTQ+ people have unique and often challenging life experiences because of their sexual and gender identities. Living as your authentic self means having a sense of integrity and pride in all aspects of your identity. Let’s figure out what that looks like for you.
Sexual health and well-being are essential aspects of a man's life and are too often relegated to the background. Men often feel a great deal of shame when they experience a sexual dysfunction. I support men in treating and recovering from a variety of sexual concerns by addressing all areas of their lives. Men come to me for sex therapy to get support with erectile dysfunction, premature or delayed ejaculation, low libido, painful receptive anal intercourse, out of control sexual behaviors, relationship issues, and sexual anxiety. Because no man is the same, my approach to your sex therapy sessions is as unique as you are. Our sex therapy work will address physical, psychological, and interpersonal components of the presenting problem. Moving toward your vision of sexual health requires careful attention to all facets of your body, identity and lived experience.
I work with couples as well as consensually non-monogamous and polyamorous relationship systems. Work with relationship systems allows for me to experience the interpersonal dynamics first hand, without relying on a report of what happened outside of session. This dynamic makes relationship sessions exciting opportunities to make changes in real time. The goal of relationship therapy is not to solve all of the problems during sessions. The goal is to enhance empathy and promote open communication so that you can work together to solve problems more effectively outside of session.
I know that reaching out to a new therapist can be intimidating. Whether you are ready to book an appointment or you’re in the early stages of decision-making and need answers to your questions, reach out to set up a free consultation call today.
