About me
Hello, my name is Martin Beck, and I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist with a passionate interest in the mental health field. At Martin Beck Counseling, I strive to create a non-judgmental and safe environment for my clients to explore and grow through various therapeutic modalities.
My expertise lies in:
Psychotherapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Existential Therapy
Gottman Method for Couples Therapy
My main goal is to help clients develop a deep understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their struggles while empowering them to make positive life changes. I am committed to assisting individuals and couples on their unique personal and relational growth journeys.
If you need support and guidance, I would be honored to work alongside you in your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
Do you find that contemporary society can sometimes feel isolating and alienating? We all face challenges that leave emotional scars, and even our successes can bring stress and anxiety. But when we constantly strive for achievement and perfection, we can lose sight of our true selves. Living in contradiction to our core values can lead to a loss of purpose and meaning. After more than three decades as a practicing artist exploring the human condition, my passion for the art of therapy led me to pursue a master's degree in clinical social work. My goal is to provide individual treatment for adults navigating life transitions or dealing with work, family, or health challenges. I've received training and gained experience working with clients who have faced trauma, such as caregiver abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and other stressors. This focus allows me to help clients develop healthy boundaries in relationships. My therapeutic approach is rooted in existential-humanistic philosophy, grief work, attachment theory, and mindfulness skills. In my practice, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and a blend of existential and psychodynamic psychotherapy techniques. For me, therapy is a journey with my clients, embarking on a unique path we create together. I genuinely learn from my clients and value our collaborative work. Creating a safe and non-judgmental space that fosters self-acceptance is my aim. I genuinely care about my clients and remain curious about their experiences without erecting the barrier of clinical detachment. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're interested in embarking on this therapeutic journey together.
