About me

I am an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) whose passion is to partner with clients on their healing journey, using a holistic approach that includes a variety of modalities that engage mind, body and Spirit. Please see "About Me" section for more.

Martha (“Marty”) Newbury is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who has been in practice since she graduated with a Master's Degree from Central CT State University in 1995. She uses a holistic (mind/body/spirit) approach in her work, partnering with her clients to help them tap into their strengths in order to navigate whatever life challenges have brought them to therapy. Marty works with young adults and adults in individual, group and family sessions; addressing a wide range of presenting concerns including but not limited to addictions, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, to name a few. Beyond her formal education as a LMFT she is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), among other interventions. Marty is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), and she is certified as a Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) Facilitator, Energy Healer, Reiki Master / Teacher, and Hypnotherapist; has completed 60 hours of training in Yoga Applications for Mental Health at Kripalu, and is an Ordained Inter-Spiritual Minister.
