MARCIA FONTES, LICSW
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am a bilingual psychotherapist, Independent licensed in Massachusetts and clinically trained with over 20 years of experience, both in Brazil and the United States. I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and their families and adults. I work with the multicultural population who is struggling with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and other major mental health illness.
I work in conjunction with clients. I use a personal-centered approach and tailor individual treatment plans with clients using their sense of self, family and medical history, and cultural and spiritual experience. If needed, we involve families, medical doctors, and other specialists. The treatment plan may include a school counselor and teachers if the client approves when working with adolescents.
I recently created a parenting group to help immigrant parents to be able to cultivate a healthy attachment with their children, who are the first generation born in the USA. I am advancing the understanding and application of EMDR and IFS.
