About me
Hi, I’m Lori and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults. I strive to provide a relaxed, non-judgmental space so you can be yourself and achieve your goals. I often incorporate creative therapy strategies, such as art and play, into my practice and believe that not one modality is a fit for everyone. I have experience working with children, teens, and young adults in the areas of anxiety, depression and mood disorders, self-harm behavior, anger, behavioral concerns, changes in family life, life transitions, abuse, and trauma. I have years of experience working with children using play-based therapy techniques, and one of my favorite spaces in my practice is my play therapy room!
You are a unique individual and your therapy should match your needs and goals. Play is the language of children and through their play children can explore, express, and manage big emotions, life changes, behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. Using expressive arts in therapy is often helpful when words may be too hard to find or express. Also, I am trained in and use other evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I am nationally Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) certified.
