I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in the mental health field. I specialize in working with persons suffering issues related to past traumas. I use a variety of therapies to help lessen the effects of anxiety, depression, mood swings, etc. I am trained in EMDR.
Learning how the body works has intrigued me for much of my life. This curiosity took me to Illinois State University, where I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Community Health Education. Following graduation, I began teaching drug and alcohol prevention to middle and high school students. It was along this journey that I began working with teenagers on probation and their families. This opportunity led me to discover the fascinating world of mental health and so I began my Masters in Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Upon completion of my degree, I transitioned from Health Educator to Outpatient Therapist. I have had the opportunity to coach, mentor and support some of the most amazing people along the way. In addition, I have worked with people suffering from addiction issues, eating disorders, homelessness, mental health crisis, and much more. My studies and research have taught me that, even though we are all very different, we can all relate to each other from our own experiences. I simply cannot imagine myself doing anything else!
