About me

I am an experienced licensed clinical social worker who is committed to supporting women, moms, parents, and families facing eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and parenting a child with special needs.

Hello, I'm Kristen, and I'm glad you're here. My professional work treating clients with eating disorders, anxiety, depression has shaped most of my professional development prior to becoming a mother. Parenting a child with special needs (and 2 kids with neurodivergence) has shaped me personally and professionally the past 12 years. Since high school I've held a love for helping girls and women become free from comparison, competition, and mental health challenges. Over the years I've developed in my own personal journey of hardship and challenge alongside my professional training and experience, which shapes how I approach my work as a clinician. I see my work as a therapist to be an honor to learn and know your story and journey with you as you discover or uncover parts of your self and story that have shaped who you are, how you struggle(d), and how you perceive the challenges and circumstances you currently face that have led to you seeking help.

The trainings and modalities that have significantly shaped my therapeutic lens and approach are: DBT, ACT, CBT, Mindfulness-Based-Cognitive Therapy, and psychodynamic. I've also done additional training in Perinatal Mental Health and through the Gottman institute. Other mental health authors that have most influenced my work (and self) since grad school are Kristin Neff, PhD (self-compassion), Dan Siegel, PhD, Melody Beattie, Brene Brown, DSW, Aundi Kolber, LPC,Anita Johnston, PhD, Nedra Tawwab, LCSW, and Becky Kennedy, PhD (Good Inside).

If you are struggling under the burden of anxiety, ADHD, depression, burnout (career or caregiver), perfectionism, eating disorder behavior, codependency, special needs parenting, marital conflict, or the transition to becoming a parent, I look forward to connecting with you to help you find healing, relief, and peace.
