About me

It's a blessing to meet you! I am a compassionate Christian counselor in Corona, ready to help you through your cancer or grief journey. I will walk alongside you to help you focus on Christ, experience peace, and build resilience so you can weather this storm. With Christ-centered counseling, I use Biblical principles, scriptures, and evidence-based therapy interventions to help reduce anxiety & depression symptoms, shift you into a hope-filled mindset, and add coping skills to your tool box. I am a faith-based, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I see kids & teens, adults, couples, families, & caregivers.

I started doing professional therapy in 2020 after spending 13 years doing Biblical counseling at my church. This counseling gig is my dream job! I truly feel the Lord has called me to this work, and it is my joy to sit with each person who entrusts me with their life's story. I have been married since 1992, we have three adult children (no grand kids yet), and two kitty fur babies names Baby & Thomas. My favorite hobbies are gardening (I have raised beds for veggies) and tending to my cottage garden, which is ever-evolving. I enjoy the beach, being in nature, and thrift shopping (hello, retail therapy!).

About My Approach to Therapy

I offer a faith-based, safe place for my clients to share their burdens and not have to carry them alone. I am warm, open, authentic, and not afraid to talk about the hardest issues you're dealing with. "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2.

I use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic based interventions. I love teaching nervous system regulation skills to help you live a values-driven life in this present moment.

When cancer or grief are front and center, it can be so hard to focus on the here and now. This is a Biblical concept woven throughout scripture. "Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worries of its own." Matthew 6:34.

Everything I say and do is rooted in our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ! You can expect to be redirected to God's Word for inspiration, gentle correction, and guidance for all of life's challenges you may be facing.

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12.

If you are ready to work hard, make meaningful changes, and experience a more hope-filled life, we will work well together! And God will be with us every step of the way.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you." Isaiah 43:2

My clients would describe my counseling style as gentle and effective, yet focused. I offer compassion, empathy, encouragement, and kindness while remaining committed to my clients' healing, growth, and specific goals they have set for their lives.

I am a follower of Christ, which means that I offer unconditional love to all humans, regardless of their personal beliefs & values. This plays out in how I show love and embody love toward others, both in the therapy relationship and in my personal life.

What to Expect from Our First Session: You can expect to feel a little nervous as we're getting to know one another, but you will walk away from session feeling heard, seen, and cared for. I want to learn all about you! Most clients say they feel better after talking to me & appreciate my welcoming nature.
