Kimberly Mays

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the state of Rhode Island. For the past 10 years, I have helped people identify and deconstruct difficult or harmful thought patterns, resulting in positive outcomes in their emotions and behavior.

My experience comes from a variety of settings including schools, day treatment facilities, and mental health agencies. I have provided direct mental health and behavioral counseling to children, teens, and adults with a variety of presenting issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, self-concept and self-esteem, conflict resolution, behavior issues in children, bullying, and relationship and family issues.

I believe your core beliefs are informed by your early life experiences. They are deeply rooted in how you view yourself, your environment, and your future, along with your beliefs about these factors. I strive to treat our time with compassion and respect.

I approach the therapeutic relationship with sensitivity to multi-cultural factors. My therapy and style approach draws influence from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.

My top priority is to meet you where you are and fine-tune treatment and my approach to what works best for us as we meet your goals. Whether you are working towards a mindset shift or improved daily functioning, I hope we can work together to achieve it.
