About me

I specialize in helping adults cope with the impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, and perinatal mental health (pregnancy/postpartum). I also help folks in relationships develop skills to increase healthy communication, navigate conflict, and find clarity and connection.

I am committed to creating a safe, empowering space for you to unpack your experiences, explore different parts of yourself, and heal in a deeply meaningful way. Being seen, heard, and understood are powerful agents for change.

My approach is compassionate and relational. I see our therapeutic relationship as a place for you to examine interpersonal dynamics, express needs and desires, experience healthy connection, and develop greater resilience. My role is to help facilitate your process of self-exploration and growth, and I consider myself a fellow journeyer who has useful tools for you on this leg of your journey. I acknowledge and respect your wisdom and inherent value, and see you as the expert on you.

Working with me means:
- A supportive, non-stuffy environment where you can come as you are;
- Looking at the influences of early experiences and familial and sociocultural messaging on your understanding of yourself, others, and the world around you;
- Getting curious about how thoughts and behaviors help meet your needs, and ways they can be improved to better serve you;
- Unearthing the roots of issues so we can heal at the source;
- Being affirmed and validated, while also;
- Being respectfully challenged at times;
- Learning to sit together in the uncomfortable;
- Humor and, possibly, some colorful language (Therapy can be deep, challenging work but that doesn’t mean there can’t be some levity and laughs along the way.)

MY COUNSELING APPROACH
Just like every person is unique, so, too, is my approach to helping them. At its core, my work is person-centered and strengths-based, meaning I prioritize your experiences, values, and perspectives, and I strive to build upon your strengths, resources, and abilities rather than just triaging a presenting problem. With the right support, you have the capacity to make positive lasting changes.

I use a psychodynamic, attachment, and feminist framework for conceptualizing development, behavior, and change. This combination guides how I understand your experience, set treatment goals, choose interventions, and determine progress. Think of it as an integrative lens through which I see you and your story.

I predominantly use the following modalities: mindfulness, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
