About me
Are you trying to feel empowered and build a connection with a therapist? Do you want someone who will be direct and honest in their communication? Have you ever felt accepted for who you are and had someone listen to you without judgement? Do you like to use humor and memes to discuss your mental illness and trauma? It is my hope to provide a space that feels safe and people feel valued while they engage in therapy with a little bit of light heartedness, a lot of kindness, and no room for judgement.
Hello, I'm Katie a clinical social worker providing therapy services in Ohio. I graduated with a Master's degree from Case Western Reserve University and have been providing therapy services since 2014. Client care has always been very important to me and I strive to provide a decolonized, safe, and comfortable space for clients of all genders, sexual orientations, religious, non-religious, ethnicities, races, etc; to process and explore issues brought to the therapy room. I work with a variety of clients and I am pretty adaptable but the most common population I work with, at this point in my career, are clients who are adults, part of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, marginalized populations, and people experiencing an existential crisis. I work with my clients to build rapport and a strong therapeutic alliance to create space to improve quality of life, to build agency and recognize where their control lies, to feel empowered, and to acknowledge the pain and trauma from a society not designed for certain populations of people. Therapy can be a serious and heavy thing and I want to honor and respect the experiences you are willing to share but I also hope to bring a bit of levity to the therapy space as laughter has such a positive impact on mental and physical wellness. I look forward to working with anyone who feels we would be a good fit and don't let the intensity of this brief bio lead you astray; while I am quite serious and passionate about therapy, I also enjoy laughing with my clients and hope we can share many laughs together as well.
