Hello! My name is Katie Barton and I am a State of Texas Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling.
I attended Stephen F. Austin State University for my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. During this time in life, I discovered a passion for speaking with individuals about their life stories, traumas, victories, setbacks, and ability to overcome. This led to a life altering decision to pursue counseling and assist individuals to become their best self!
I love helping people work out the narratives inside their heads! Everyone has a unique and individual story. Sometimes this story has deep and dark moments or complex traumas that have affected the course of an individual's life, whether these moments were 2o minutes ago or 20 years ago, I enjoy helping individuals work past areas in their mind causing them to feel stuck. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral, rational emotive behavioral, narrative and dialectical behavioral therapy approaches.
In my spare time, I love to bake, fish, or explore with my son!
