About me
Katherine Ottofy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing professional individual therapy services to college students and adults of all age groups, both in-person and online. With a strong background in treating trauma, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, communication difficulties, and everyday life stressors.
I prioritize the needs of my clients by taking a client-centered approach, utilizing evidence-based practices to support them in achieving their goals. One of my areas of expertise is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment, which is effective for trauma recovery, depression, and anxiety management. I am also skilled in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) treatment for OCD. In addition, I incorporate other modalities such as CBT informed therapy, grounding and mindfulness, psycho-education, and coping skill building. Compassion, empathy, and validation are essential in the counseling process, and I make it a priority to incorporate these qualities into my therapy practice. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to express themselves and actively listen to their needs. I am committed to meeting my clients where they are and working collaboratively with them to help achieve their treatment goals, regardless of the challenges they may be facing.

Professional Background/Clinical Experience
I have had the privilege of being employed at Aspire Counseling since October 2022 and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here. I have accumulated a wealth of experience in the mental health field throughout my career. Prior to joining Aspire Counseling, I had the opportunity to serve as an Outpatient Therapist/Clinical Provider for a community behavioral health agency for a duration of 11 years. Additionally, I dedicated several years to working at an inpatient forensic mental health hospital. In terms of education, I successfully obtained a Bachelor's degree in both Biology and Psychology from the esteemed University of Missouri in the year 2000. Subsequently, I completed my Masters of Social Work, also at the University of Missouri, in 2006. I have been a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2009.
