About me
My professional focus includes crisis intervention, critical incidents, life/professional coaching, threat assessment, trauma, mood disorders, intimate partner abuse, domestic violence, resilience, and systems work. I have held leadership positions both in Fortune 50 companies as well as the government. Many clinical and non-clinical roles have included professional development and coaching.
I have 15 years of clinical experience and use evidence based practices. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) from a strength based, solution-focused approach. I hold a license in Colorado, a certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and am a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.
Initial sessions are used to obtain history of the presenting issues. Sessions include mindfulness exercises with most sessions including activities to complete or practice in between sessions. Review of these activities will occur at each subsequent session. Most clients see improvement of symptoms within the first 4-6 weeks with continued or sustained improvement thereafter.
Seeking help from professionals can feel daunting and come with a lot of ambivalence. I try to make therapy as collaborative and transparent a process as possible. My goal for clients is to equip you with the tools or skills needed to be an effective leader, manage a mood disorder or move through grief, trauma, and interpersonal relationships on your own.
Just like the lotus, we each have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world.
Thich Nhat Hanh
It is in our darkest periods that we discover who we really are and what we are made of. The truth is, when you’ve been in the darkness long enough, you truly begin to see. Suddenly, you have this clarity and understanding of what really matters. It takes going through hardship to reach the next level of awareness that is needed for your next chapter.
Finding the right therapist a very personal choice. Visit my website and schedule a free consultation so we can get to know one another and make that determination together. https://lotusltd.clientsecure.me/
