I am an experienced trauma counselor and coach specializing in helping couples and families in distress.

After a full career as an executive leader, consultant and coach, I became a counselor because I know what it's like to feel stuck, sad, scared or surprised by my own actions, the people I love, and things that have happened to me. And I know how frustrating it can be to seek help, only to have it be not all that helpful. At the same time, my experience has been that connecting with the right therapist can be an absolute game-changer! A good therapeutic relationship offers creative insights we simply can’t get on our own, no matter how smart we are. Sometimes we simply need to work things out with someone else, beyond what friendship or other relationships provide.

I draw on my professional training and personal history to help people get back to being able to envision brighter days ahead. I especially enjoy working with folks navigating complex relationship or family dynamics. I am trained and experienced in trauma work, EMDR therapy, Gottman & EFT couples work, discernment counseling for couples considering whether to end or continue in their relationship, and working with families navigating adoption, foster care, neurodivergence and grief.

Should you choose to work with me, seeking help with a crisis or a complicated relationship, I want you to have an idea of what you can expect. We’ll begin with a thorough assessment and understanding of your goals for counseling. Next, we’ll determine a plan for our work.

We may decide you could benefit from gaining some new skills, have stuff from your past to clear up, or need to strengthen your connections with other people. The next steps can be as creative and varied as the people involved. What stays the same is my commitment to prioritize what is most important to you, to work at a pace that makes sense within the context of your actual day-to-day life, and to equip you with tools, resources, strategies, and principles you can use long after our work together ends.
