About me
I am a therapist who strives to offer a safe and supportive space for individuals who are struggling with anxiety, life transitions, depression, history of trauma and neurodiversity. I understand that life can be overwhelming and that sometimes we need a little extra support to navigate the challenges that come our way. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can share their experiences without fear of being invalidated or retraumatized.
Enduring difficult times often removes us from a sense of who we are or want to be. Our identities get lost as relationships come and go, and we transition through developmental stages. There is profound healing in reconnecting or finding with our true selves by showing compassion for the many parts that make up who we are.
I believe it is important to accept people just as they are and where they are in their process. I approach counseling collaboratively, with you as the expert of your own life. Together, we will explore a deeper understanding of the barriers preventing you from living the life you want. You deserve to live your most fulfilling, meaningful life and you don’t have to be alone in this journey.
I am passionate about supporting teens and young adults to deal with the complexities of life transitions, interpersonal effectiveness, unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety and emotion regulation. Navigating the developmental stages can be confusing and filled with complex issues. I use a combination of modalities including Psychoeducation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed and neurodiversity affirming therapy. I have an enthusiastic down to earth approach where I use these modalities to focus on your healing–incorporating some gentle, dark humor along the way. I also have developed a passion working with people who are neurodivergent, whose brains work differently. People with neurodivergence don’t always feel a sense of belonging, which can lead to miscommunication, increased depression and anxiety.
