About me

Life can be painful and overwhelming but healing happens through human connection - if it is genuine and trusting. We will work to understand your repetitive patterns and change the areas where you struggle - hurtful relationships, depression, anxiety, fear, procrastination, fatigue, unhealthy thinking and behaviors. I love working with individuals seeking deep healing, even if prior therapy was not enough. I work with those who have a history of sexual and other abuse, neglect, domestic violence, assault, and other traumas, impacts of narcissistic relationships, anxiety, worry, grief, chronic illness, and phobias. Together we will use your inherent ability to heal to calm your nervous system, alleviate symptoms, find strength and freedom, and embrace vulnerability. When coping skills are not enough, it is time to heal!

I have advanced training in EMDR and have studied polyvagal theory, attachment theory/neurobiology, Internal Family Systems (IFS)/ego state parts work, and somatic psychology. I believe that approaches and techniques rooted in evidence-based psychology are wonderful tools, but will be insufficient without a genuine relationship between client and therapist. I spend time getting to know you and building trust. If we can create a genuine connection then I know there is hope and healing available. I am here to walk alongside you in the journey as a witness to your story. You are not simply over-sensitive, dramatic, or reactive. When past experiences overwhelmed you and you were unable to process what happened, your distress likely remained just below the surface, stored in the body. These experiences continue to influence your decisions, and reactions, and cause symptoms that interfere with the way you wish to live. You will learn to embrace your vulnerability and your shifting emotions and increase your self-awareness. You will gain insight into why you react, respond, behave, and feel the way you do. You may be hurt but you are not broken!
