I have 3 decades of experience with couples and individuals helping them create the relationships and lives they truly want.

Are you dealing with a cheating spouse? Demanding children? Are money issues wrecking your love affair? Are you haunted by anxiety, depression or sleeplessness, and aren’t sure why? Are you connecting with your partner? Are your professional relationships working? Or do you feel frustrated, alone, or just out of hope?

Relationships affect everything from happiness to income to lifespan. Yet they’re the most overwhelming and complicated part of life. They need special attention, and sometimes they require extra help. Whether you’re a struggling student long on passion and short on sleep, or a career professional trying to balance work with a social life, or if you’re wrestling with the special difficulties of children, family, or age—I’m here to help.

My experience covers the full range of individual and couples counseling. My patients are straight, gay, monogamous, polyamorous, from every cultural and ethnic background, and they confront struggles extending from communication issues, infidelity, and addiction, to professional anxieties, grief and stage of life. I am a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist specializing in relationships and in navigating through major life transitions. For 3 decades I’ve treated patients of every background and helped them work through a wide variety of personal challenges.

I’m originally from New York and did my undergraduate work at Cornell University. I received my Master’s Degree at Antioch University, and went on to earn a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Ryokan College.

My private practice has always been the center of my work. Beyond that, I’ve taught parenting at Santa Monica College for ten years, gave psychological advice for five years as co-host of a morning drive-time radio show in Southern California, and I’ve been featured on national, local, and cable television programs. I co-host a biweekly podcast called “Creativity in the Age of Covid with Dr. Judi Bloom and Richard Skipper” available on Youtube. I am also on the Venice Institute of Contemporary Art Advisory Board.

Prior to psychotherapy my profession was as a television news anchor in major markets like New York, Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles. As an on-camera reporter for fifteen years, I gained insight into the special demands confronting people in the media and in creative fields.

Because you are an individual, I tailor my therapeutic approach to your particular case. I come from a psychodynamic perspective. I’m a practitioner in CBT,ACT, DBT and Mindfulness techniques, as well as in hypnotherapy. I’ve done extensive counseling in problem areas like marital conflict, drug addition, Sexual Issues, Grief , Stage of Life, etc issues of infidelity and trust, phobias, and the special stresses of money and children.

I look at the entirety of your life without judgement and provide feedback and guidance to lead you from the anxiety and depression that overwhelms you to a path that puts you back in charge of your life. You’ll define your goals, lay out a plan of action, and live the life you want.

I work with patients remotely since I am licensed in both California and Florida. I will listen to your story, but I will also challenge you. I offer empathy, humor, guidance, and solutions. Whether you’re facing a major life crisis, or simply want to pursue the happiness you know is out there, you can see me for a free consultation. It’s your life and you only get one. Let me help you make the most of it.
