About me
I am a warm and nonjudgmental trauma therapist who has been helping kids and adults for 19 years to take back control of their anxiety, function better with their family, and believe in their strength again.
Have you been stuck on the outside of your own life waiting to not be anxious? Have you felt like you are too overwhelmed to even connect to your family? On the days you feel broken, do you know you have the tools to put the pieces back together? When you have been through trauma or have anxiety every problem can feel like the end of the world. You never know when you are safe, how to feel better or how to meet your needs without making people feel upset. It can be exhausting to want to be better, hear everyone tell you to "just stop worrying" and still worry all the time. I don't want you to hold this pain any longer.
You can be free of your intrusive thoughts. You can live a full life again. My main specialty is treating anxiety, trauma, and attachment problems. We will walk through your experiences that drive these symptoms and explore if a briefer model of solution oriented tools and thinking exercises will help you break free into healing or if we need to further explore your past and your stressors using trauma informed models.
I believe in your AMAZINGNESS! With 19 years of experience specializing in attachment disorders and trauma, my passion lies in helping individuals recognize their strengths. Treating both youth and adults, I know that there's no one-size-fits-all therapy. That's why I offer a diverse set of tools and techniques to understand your beliefs, cope with flashbacks, and manage anxiety. Whether it's through CBT, art, sand tray, or other methods, I adapt my approach to meet your unique needs, unlocking your whole and healthy self.
In my 19-year journey as a trauma and anxiety therapist, I empower you to take control, embrace your worth, and equip yourself with coping skills. I blend evidence-based practices like CBT, ERP, and TBRI with creative modalities like art and play therapy. Beyond my profession, I'm a married mom of four, a rescue dog owner, and a lover of hiking, gardening, baking, and painting. I know the challenges of a busy life and parenting, and my extensive toolbox is at your disposal. I've learned the power of challenging my comfort zone, and I'm here to believe in YOU until you're ready to hold that belief for yourself.
Check out my website for more information about how I practice or reach out for a consult today to see if we are a fit! If you are a parent who is looking for care for the child please know that I will be your partner in care. I believe the best way to help children is to help their family at the same time. I use individual and joint sessions where we may be working on communication strategies, having your child review their work with you, discussing your concerns for your child, and parent coaching. If you have a child with challenges you know that there is no magic method and part of my job is to help you learn tools that align with your child's strengths and challenges that are evidence based. I have 15 years of experience in training biological, adoptive, and foster parents in connection, correction, and empowerment skills to help them take back control of their family and help their child see them on their team instead of the enemy.
