About me
As a certified sex therapist, I specialize in helping individuals and couples with sexual concerns and issues. I work with clients to identify and address various challenges related to sexuality, including sexual dysfunction, communication problems, and intimacy issues. I especially help individuals who are struggling with problematic sexual behaviors to find understanding and relief from their struggles.
Have you been struggling with problematic sexual behaviors and don't know where to turn? Feeling as if your sexual behaviors, interests, and thoughts are out of control and it's impacting every aspect of your life? Does it seem so difficult to stop yourself from engaging in the behaviors like pornography use, masturbation, and hookups, even when you know it's hurting yourself and others? Have you tried to stop on your own, but always seem to fall back into the same patterns? Feeling afraid that the inability to stop is going to destroy your relationships, career, and overall well-being? You may feel so alone and ashamed, like nobody could possibly understand what you're going through.
Or maybe the passion and desire has changed in your relationship(s) and you are wanting to understand why? Does my partner(s) desire me anymore? Why do I want to avoid sex? Or perhaps finding yourself attracted to something atypical has you concerned? Am I "normal?" You often are left feeling like an "other." Your sexual struggles, changes, or desires making you feel isolated and alone.
But you are not alone. This is where I can help.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and AASECT certified sex therapist, with over 14 years of professional experience helping individuals, families, and various relationship structures work through their issues. I have specialized training in the treatment of problematic sexual behavior(s) and other sexuality issues, such as erectile dysfunction, desire differences, sexual self-esteem, LGBTQIA2S+, kink, and traditional and non-traditional relationships.
As a sex-positive therapist, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to your problematic sexual behavior or sexuality concern, and develop strategies to make progress toward the goals YOU set, bringing your sexual behavior(s) back to a place of pleasure, get rid of shame, bring the peace of acceptance to your life, and/or bring the passion back to your relationship(s). Through the use of evidence-based techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, sex positivity, and Solution-Focused therapy, we work together to help you overcome the problems you're struggling with and build a healthier relationship with sex, others, and yourself.
Whether you're just beginning to explore treatment options for problematic sexual behavior(s), a different sexual concern, or have been struggling with the sexual and/or relationship issue(s) for some time, I am here to help. I am committed to providing you with the support and guidance you need to overcome the struggles and live a happier, healthier life.
