About me
I am a passionate clinician with a unique set of experience in treating individuals, couples and families coming to therapy to work on a wide array of struggles and goals.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist who has been practicing in different settings and different levels of care throughout the country since 2006. My career has lead me from private practice in Michigan, to treating trauma and developing co-occurring treatment programs in Utah and North Carolina, back to Michigan to develop the state's first residential eating disorder program and now back to private practice. My diverse clinical experiences have allowed me the opportunity to work with some of the brightest providers in the country. The exposure to such diverse and skilled providers has shaped me into a clinician that is unique in the extensive experience, training, and expertise I have gained through many years in practice and program development.
Training in marriage and family therapy means I have a foundation in understanding the role systems (family systems, partnerships, schools, organizations, etc.) play in positively or negatively impacting the health and well-being of the individuals within the system and vice versa. In addition to my passion for working with families and couples I have developed passion and expertise in treating problems rooted in trauma. Many mental health diagnosis, including, addiction, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, etc. are the result of the dysregulation individuals experience as a result of trauma, toxic stress, or attachment wounds.
I have advanced training in techniques such as EMDR (Eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing), Brainspotting, and Trauma Focused Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. These are all interventions meant to improve overall psychological, physiological, emotional, and relational regulation. Relief, resilience, and empowerment are my goals for anybody who chooses to engage in therapy with me.
