About me
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor experienced with young children and families, adolescents, adults, and couples. I have advanced training in trauma, grief, attachment, mood and behavioral concerns in children and teens, chronic pain, depression, and anxiety.
I live in the beautiful state of Arizona. My physical office space is in Mesa, AZ. I can also work remotely with clients throughout Arizona (all ages) and California (adults). I've worked in a variety of settings; including community mental health, hospice, emergency hotlines, residential treatment, private practice, and schools. I work with clients throughout the lifespan; from early childhood to late adulthood. Some of my specialties include; trauma, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, relationships, attachment injuries, as well as mood and behavioral concerns for kids and teens.
I am committed to providing personalized psychotherapy services that are empathic, respectful, and personally meaningful. I am trained in a variety of techniques and modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Individuals (EFCT, EFT, and EFiT), EMDR, Mindfulness, Sandtray Therapy, Intrapersonal Guided Imagery, and Theraplay® activities for young clients and their caregivers. These diverse skills allow me to offer a customizable combination of resources to fit my client's unique stories, needs, and goals.
I offer an open, inclusive, and affirming space for all. I am allied with LGBTQIA+ communities and welcome everyone's culture, perspectives, struggles, and unique story. Each client matters to me and I want them to feel safe, appreciated, and understood as we work together to formulate and implement a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. I believe that my client's are the experts in their own lives and I respect their experiences and expertise.
My approach to therapy is also unique in that I use a bottom-up approach to trauma and the therapeutic process. This type of treatment relies on in-session experiences as well as work with the physical body and the lower structure of the brain to release stored memories and reactive responses. Unless those overwhelming experiences are released; the past continues to inform the way we see and interact with the world. Releasing those ingrained reactions can rewire the brain for more adaptive responses, reduce stress, reduce pain, and give us the opportunity to create the healthy patterns we wish to cultivate in our lives.
My services are also informed by attachment science and the belief that we are all made to connect in healthy ways to others. Strong attachments have been proven to help relieve stress and improve mental health.
It is an honor to work with my clients, to learn from them, and to support them on their journey. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to do a 15-minute free phone consultation.
