About me
Experienced psychologist working with adults and adolescents from a strength-based approach.
Dr. Bertsch earned her Doctoral Degree in clinical psychology in 2002 from the California School of Professional Psychology. She also earned a Master’s Degree in forensic psychology. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, CA, where she provided psychotherapy and conducted psychological, cognitive, personality, and forensic evaluations for adults. Her training includes treatment of adolescents and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, development disabilities, depression, anxiety, trauma, personality pathology, relational issues, grief and loss counseling, women’s issues, identity issues, LGBTQIA+ populations, and chemical dependency. Dr. Bertsch is trained in providing individual, marital/couples, and group therapy.
Dr. Bertsch has experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, including crisis facilities, correctional environments, hospital settings, and private practice. In 2009, Dr. Bertsch and several colleagues opened a private practice in the South Metro. Her focus at that clinic included providing outpatient mental health services, clinical supervision, and managerial oversight. Her theoretical orientation is best described as integrative with emphasis on cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches. Dr. Bertsch uses a collaborative, strength-based, and empowering approach with her clients. Additionally, Dr. Bertsch enjoys engaging in consultation and providing supervision to her colleagues and other organizations.
