About me

I am a neurocounselor with 8 years of experience doing neurofeedback to help people with brain-related challenges such as PTSD, ASD, ADHD, migraines, seizures, etc. I work with all ages.

With my background in molecular biology and neuroscience, my focus is on how the body stores and affects our mental health. In fact, I do not believe mental health is somehow separate from physical health - I believe challenges to our mental health primarily reside in the brain and brain function. The good news is that everything we do affects the brain and brain function, so there is a plethora of activities that we can utilize to change the brain, including traditional talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy [CBT] (specifically, 3rd wave cognitive behavioral therapies such as acceptance and compassion therapy [ACT] and dialectical behavioral therapy [DBT]), brain training exercises, neurofeedback, diet, exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, somatic experiencing, etc. We can use both "bottom-up" therapies such as those that involve sensory modalities and/or "top-down" therapies such as CBT and other skills training. I love working with children, as well, and we can use play to help children both express themselves as well as learn coping skills. I also work with a lot of people who have experienced traumas and would like to change their brain to move beyond them and their effects on their lives.
