About me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor who is dedicated to helping individuals heal and become their best self living their best life

Jacqueline Montero is a licensed mental health counselor, Internationally Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Master’s level Addiction Counselor in the state of Hawaii. Jacqueline has been counseling and advocating for better mental health since 2013. Jacqueline graduated from Ashford University, now called Arizona University, in 2013 with a B.S. degree in Psychology. Jacqueline graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2020 with an M.S. in Addiction Counseling and now teaches adjunct undergraduate courses on counseling and addiction. This year, Jacqueline also launched online education and services where she promotes overall wellbeing, mentally and physically. Jacqueline also offers 1:1 coaching services for students working towards their licensure and addiction certification. Prior to this, Jacqueline started the Behavioral Health Program at RYSE, Residential Youth Services and Empowerment, for homeless youth ages 18-24 years old with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Jacqueline was the first in Hawaii to create a program specifically for ages 18-24 years old who were able to receive permanent housing with supportive services, as well as, full wrap-around support services. Jacqueline has served in a variety of treatment programs in Hawaii including Po’ailani Residential Treatment Program for Dual Diagnosis and Ku Aloha Ola Mau, which offers substance abuse counseling and medication assisted treatment. Jacqueline is a member of the American Counseling Association and embraces any opportunity to mentor young counselors and advocate for mental health in the community. When Jacqueline is not working, she is caring for her 3 young daughters. Jacqueline works hard to be a helpful professional to all her clients, a mentor to other professionals, an example to her colleagues and a loving mother and wife. When Jacqueline is not serving her clients and family, she enjoys relaxing and watching anything that makes her laugh. Jacqueline looks forward to making a ripple effect in the world of mental health so others can live a fuller, more wonderful life.

Jacqueline’s goal has always been to heal herself and others from the inside out. Creating this online community has allowed her to extend and create a healing platform, both emotionally and physically, for others who have gone through similar emotional pain and traumatic experiences. Healing is possible.
