About me
I am a licensed social worker who believes in a collaborative approach to treatment; you are the expert on your own life! I strive to bring humor, warmth, curiosity, and care to each session. I enjoy and have experience working with all individuals, from kids and teens to adults of all ages. One of my specialties includes the LGBTQIA2+ community. I also enjoy working with individuals with substance use disorders, ADHD, and anxiety, and those who need help developing communication and interpersonal skills.
While I enjoy working with many individuals, my passion is the LGBTQIA2+ community (particularly transgender folks) providing a positive and affirming environment to explore identities and develop a strong sense of self. My approach is to help clients identify and utilize strengths while encouraging continued growth. I focus on assisting clients in setting attainable goals, improving communication, and learning skills to manage symptoms and decrease behaviors that may be harmful. I believe that identifying negative beliefs and patterns of behavior that prevent someone from being where they want to be is an essential part of therapy.

I focus on assisting clients in setting attainable goals, improving communication, and learning skills to manage symptoms and decrease behaviors that may be harmful. I believe that identifying negative beliefs and patterns of behavior that prevent someone from being where they want to be is an essential part of therapy. I use aspects of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and play and sand tray therapy when appropriate for a client's situation.
Therapy works best when you are in a space where you feel comfortable being vulnerable, not only with me but yourself as well. I’ll work to help you feel comfortable and cared for during our time working together. If you wish to start your therapy journey with me, please call Valley Counseling and request Haven.
