Gwendolyn Atwood, Psychologist
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Trained as a psychologist at Harvard, I'm experienced in helping adults like you overcome depression, anxiety and trauma, so you don't have to "go it alone."
Since earning my masters and doctoral degrees in Counseling and Consulting Psychology, I have gained lots of experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, family issues and parenting concerns, particularly. My work is an expression of my own approach to living, including relaxing into what's difficult rather than resisting it, so that the essential joy of connecting more deeply with ourselves and others is supported and expanded. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and kindness. I will tailor our sessions and your treatment plan to your individual needs, meeting you where you are. In my work with people, I often use the latest psychosensory modalities, including the Havening techniques, in combination with an attachment-oriented approach.
Working with me, you can expect to be supported to listen within yourself more deeply, activating your own self-healing ability. I can help you to gain more access to your own answers for your life so you feel more empowered to follow your inner knowing more fully. It truly takes courage to make the first steps forward for change. If you are ready to take that first step, I'm here to support you in becoming more fully expressed as your unique and precious self. I look forward to working with you!
