Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
This therapist holds one or more specialty certifications, you can review their certification within the professional certifications section on their profile.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I work with you using an integrative, person-centered, inclusive, non-judgmental, non-pathologizing, lgbtqia+ affirming, culturally inclusive, trauma and systems-informed framework to mental health and wellbeing.
My approach is collaborative and I work from the understanding that your body (this includes your brain/mind cause they are not separate from your body) already possesses the intrinsic wisdom required to heal. My role is to facilitate your own self-exploration and self-healing by providing guidance, support and suggestions, and sometimes humor (well hopefully).
I draw on many psychological perspectives, theories, brain-based techniques, mind-body practices, neuroscience, and research-backed modalities as well as practical solutions and more intuitive approaches to help you along the way. Some of the practices or theories I orient from are:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Mind-body and somatic techniques (like yoga and breath work etc.)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
I suppose the best way to describe my general vibe is that research and science are important and inform a great deal of what I do. I believe that the mind and body are intrinsically connected and therefore any approach has to be holistic. As a result, some of my approaches rely on wisdom that has not yet been scientifically validated. Overall I am not super interested in labels or pathology, although that can be helpful for some. I am more interested in helping you to become more connected to yourself and the world around you. In our work together my aim is to support you in reaching your goals, whatever they may be.
I firmly believe in the importance of social justice for all people and dismantling oppressive systems. I recognize that therapy in and of itself can be oppressive as a direct result of colonization and imperialism. As such, I actively seek to decolonize the practice of therapy by working WITH you. My aim is to humanize the process of therapy by focusing on the importance of collective care and community. This means that I work from a framework that acknowledges that people are not separate from their social, economic, and political contexts. I acknowledge how systemic oppression, racism, and state-sanctioned violence impact not only individuals but also entire communities, and this is reflected in my holistic approach.
I welcome people from all backgrounds, lifestyles, identities, and fluidities. I intentionally welcome those who have experienced stigma and oppression within the mental health system including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and/or lgbtqia+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Pansexual, Transgendered, Genderqueer, Queer, Intersex, Agender, Asexual and other queer-identifying community).
My approach is trauma-informed and harm reduction-focused.
I offer teletherapy for Individuals (adults and adolescents), families, and couples.
